- What’s Next: Expand opportunities for entrepreneurs and modernize city policies to make it easier for people from all backgrounds to succeed.
Mental Health & DV Crisis Response
Every family deserves to know that help is available 24/7 in a crisis. Our city must be a partner in safety, healing, and hope.
- What I’ve Done: Strengthened the ICT1 and HOT teams and invested in
Second Light (formerly MAC), Wichita’s first permanent homeless shelter.
- What’s Next: Fully implement wraparound services at Second Light and provide 24/7 support for those in crisis.
Affordable Housing and Neighborhood Preservation
Wichita’s families should be able to find safe, affordable housing, without losing the unique character of our historic neighborhoods.
- What I’ve Done: Expanded affordable housing opportunities while protecting historic neighborhoods.
- What’s Next: Leverage federal, state, and local incentives, particularly for multi-family housing downtown, to expand Wichita’s housing supply and lower costs.
Safer Streets and Infrastructure
Strong neighborhoods need safe streets, reliable infrastructure, and basic public amenities that keep up with growth.
- What I’ve Done: Increased investment in road repairs, added public hydration stations and restrooms, and ensured fire response coverage during major projects.
- What’s Next: Continue improving infrastructure and safety to support Wichita's growing neighborhoods.
Downtown Development and Paid Parking
Our downtown should work for everyone — residents, businesses, and visitors alike.
- What I’ve Done: Supported balanced parking reforms to provide revenue for infrastructure without burdening small businesses.
